There is a various number of products available to shield individual rooms or buildings as a whole. But before beeing concerned with the different products and their application possibilities you should first give some thoughts to the following questions -What do you want to reduce? Low-frequency electrical or even magnetic fields or high-frequency electromagnetic waves? -What is the total amount of the load? -What is the source of the radiation? -How high is your personal protection requirement? Even a good product has little effect when it is misapplied. All forms of openings like doors and windows in buildings have to be considered when the shielding materials are adapted.
Walls, ceilings and floorings For rented accommodations the use of electrically conducting emulsion paint is favoured. These products are comparatively cheap and have the advantage of an easy and fast handling. When surfaces are not sustainable or even have clefts fabrics with metallic or metalliferous fibres are used, such as "G-ES", "Diamant" or "Adamantan". By fitting those fabrics into the surface they are specially protected and maintain their shielding characteristics for years, even after renovations. Another benefit is the stabilizing effect on the plaster and the wall.
Windows The use of particular drapes poses an elegant, easy and rapid shielding solution. Almost invisible and flimsy metallic fibres incorporated in the fabric act as mirrors of the radiation. The drapes need to overlap each side of the opening of the wall by at least 20 cm. High-frequency permeable roller shutter boxes have to be considered as well as the considerably reduced wall thickness behind behind heaters. In those cases room-high drapes recommendable. Lap-felled seams are to prefer in order to prevent slits within the shielding.
Canopies Complex shielding measurements on walls, ceilings and windows can be avoided by the use of a high-frequency shielding canopy. Moreover this shielding solution offers protection against insects. As a matter of principle they should be breathable and commodious. The four sides should all around be seated on the ground. In case of high-frequency radiation penetrating from below additional floor mats or carpet underlays are required.
Bed sheets and sleeping bags Our bed sheets are very comfortable and highly efficient. During a journey the sleeping bag provides the best easiest protection.
Shielding materials for the roof Because of the higher structural-physical load (heat and humidity...) particularly solid and lasting systems are needed Usually Adamantan, G-ES, Renoir are used.
